When I was working in Central America and the Caribbean as a marine and terrestrial archaeologist, I had no idea I would be pursuing a career in renewable energy development a short time later. But looking back, it was the perfect stepping stone.
We were thrilled to be featured as an example of how renewable energy producers can live in harmony with nature, at the Wildlife Society’s annual conference this year. The Wildlife Society is an international organization committed to addressing national and international issues that affect the current and future status of wildlife in North America and throughout the world.
Bill Beall, one of the landowners from our Barton Chapel Wind Farm in Texas, has owned land since 1983 and leases just over 1,000 acres to Iberdrola Renewables for the wind farm. In addition to tending his cattle and hosting 15 wind turbines, Bill enjoys spending weekends there with his wife Sara and their first grandchild.
