ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — For the first time, wind power is lifting off in North Carolina. Gov. Pat McCrory joined business and community leaders in Elizabeth City today to break ground on North Carolina’s first industrial-scale wind power project. The Amazon Wind Farm US East, powered by Iberdrola Renewables at Desert Wind, would be the first utility-scale wind farm in North Carolina and one of the first in the southeastern United States.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Iberdrola Renewables today announced the filing of a potential 25-year contract to supply Vermont’s largest utility, Green Mountain Power (GMP), with wind energy from the permitted Deerfield Wind Farm. GMP would purchase 30 megawatts (MW) from the wind farm, under the contract submitted today to the Vermont Public Service Board for review.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Iberdrola Renewables today announced a 25-year contract to supply Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. (Tri-State) — a wholesale electric power supplier owned by 44 electric cooperatives and public power districts across Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Wyoming — with renewable energy from the planned Twin Buttes II Wind Project.
